Only two days after Nokia shareholders okayed the $7.2-billion sale to Microsoft of its devices and services arm, the former said Thursday that its headquarters near Helsinki will be taken over by Microsoft upon completion of the transaction, expected early next year. Most of Nokia’s 1,900 workers, in the devices and services division will remain in the building in Espoo, as employees of Microsoft Corp. Approximately 32,000 Nokia employees around the world will move over to Microsoft once the deal is finalized.
The Boeing Co. (NYSE:BA): Current price $132.88
Boeing has reported 84 new orders in an update through November 19, that was posted to its corporate website. Included in the orders is Business Jet’s order for one 737, Etihad Airways’ order for 26 777s and 30 787s, Lufthansa German Airlines’ order for 20 777s, plus an order for seven 737s from an unidentified buyer. In the changes category, Boeing lowered 737 net orders by four.
The Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (NYSE:GS): Current price $166.74
Goldman Sachs is meeting investors Thursday to sell the first bonds entirely backed by Italian commercial mortgages since 2006. The notes are backed by a 363-million euros loan that Goldman provided to a real estate fund to acquire shopping malls and retail parks in Italy, according to a Fitch Ratings statement. The fund was established by a property division of the French food retailer Groupe Auchan SA, which has outlets at each of the 15 locations. Goldman Sachs is marketing the Gallerie 2013 Srl bonds one day after Permanent TSB Group Holdings Plc sold Ireland’s first residential mortgage-backed securities in six years.
